This has probably been done before but its always good to look at rules and good practice within the arena. Some of my rules are:
1. I for one think the most important thing to remember when in the arena is not to spawn frag. Its polite and good sportsmanship to let someone spawn before you frag them. Its bad manners to camp a known spawn area and shoot on spawning.
2. Speaking of which its also bad manners to camp. Camping has no place in Q3A or any other FPS game, no skill here and you will get targeted yourself and disliked by all.
3.You must also never cheat, complain about losing or winning, chat frag and be polite to all.
I am sure many more exist can you think of any....list below for all to see.

These are very competitive rules you speak of Dev but ones that you are used too and stood by in your last Clan . As you get to know the Nasties better you will understand that the main points of order are respect and understanding of others. This in turn brings about most of your rules you speak of.
Key issues whilst in the arena are those which I speak of not necessarily lets "kick ass and be the best".
What would be nice for everyone to take away from this thread is a reminder of some basic etiquette, no camping, no spawn fragging and others which I forgot to list. There is nothing more irritating than constantly getting spawn fragged and someone who camps. Using these methods will get you know where in the Q3A community. So it’s important for people to take these onboard and think about how they play rather than getting 45 frags in 3 mins.

Politeness does go a long way. If it is my pals and all is in fun,...I learn no matter how badly I loose. Some wont even stay if you "heartlessly" shred them. That ends the learning and fun. And when you are close friends,..the respect and honour for the clan, and members is automatic. {Nobody needs to tell me to defend my sister}. Cool thread,..and great comments guys

Some of our Clan rules; 1) You must act like an adult when playing with us or by yourself. Once you are part of this clan, you represent us everywhere you go. Name calling or harassment is NOT allowed. Do not get upset and quit a match in the middle of a game simply because things aren’t going the way you would like. We have no tolerance for childish behavior in a game. Swearing is NOT allowed. A lot of kids play including my own children, you can be BANNED for such behavior. 2) Your skill level doesn’t mean anything to us. Good players with bad attitudes will be removed. 3) Losing a match isn’t the end of the world. With every loss, you should walk away with better skills. There’s never been a game I have played where I didn’t learn a new strategy another player has come up with. So, if you’re not learning, you’re not paying attention. 4) Chat fragging is NOT allowed. This is a practice that a lot of people use to gain a higher score. Of course accidents happen. So if you do it to someone by accident, apologize and go on. And if you are chat fragged, either thank the opponent politely and move on or ignore the chat frag. 5) When entering or leaving a room, ALWAYS be polite. Never just leave! To some people this shows a sign of anger or frustration especially if you were losing. Take your beatings like a man (or woman) but ALWAYS be polite.
