Lets try and get back on the topic of this, I was working with Wolf the other night to try and get him hooked up with playing 1.30, 1.31 and 1.32. PABLO gave me a little download a long time ago that made it possible for me to play all three, with the allseeingeye when it is set up correctly. I tried this with Wolf, it no worky. I have been looking for Pab, no findy. Anyone have any ideas? I led him to the OFx switcher, now I have not heard back from Wolf if it worked or not.... Anyway. It appears some of you do not have the ability to switch between point releases, which is a damn shame. There are some very good servers out there still......

Uh I was tought before that I was wrong with the version switcher and after Wolf's lesson I stepped into the white light and was illuminated.
I use ASE, have filters called Insta 1.30 and Insta 1.32.. They both have custom configs which means they run different executables. One for each point release and you can join any server. I don't know any faster method, it's great, I never have to change anything.

hmm i finally gave it a try but it doesnt work for me. windows is blocking the 3130 exe file. and i am afraid to unblock it. Besides its time for my siesta. Ill try again later. ciaoz z00merzzz
If its the windows firewall you mean z00m that is asking you to unblock then do so. The same happened to me and probably the rest of the gang. It's nothing to worry about
I myself didnt particularly care for versions1.17,1.29 ,1.30,1.31. I Used to like 1.16n alot but its pretty infested with bot using cheating little bastages(is pronounced Bass-ta-gez). I.27 was ok though it had a few glitches. I like 1.32 which by the way has a patch that was just released about a month or so ago(1.32c). It doesnt change anything as far as game play goes.It fixes a game code vulneralbility dealing with autodownload. I have it installed and have found no issues.

Well, the ol' 1.32c..... I have heard a few different issues with it. I chose not to install it until I had a chance to investigate ity further. Here is one persons issues: www.quake3world.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=453710&sid=e217c3f0c997d3916b7e268b3e26b282 So, I am the kinda guy that figures: if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I have not had any issues.... and I LOVE being able to switch between 1.30,1.31 and 1.32..... there are some great servers out there that run all 3 versions. Just my opinion
CVE-2006-2082: directory traversal / information leak in Quake III Arena auto download feature
Ludwig Nussel and Thilo Shulz discovered a vulnerability letting a malicious client download files from a server if auto download is enabled ( sv_allowDownload 1 ).
A second issue fixed in this release would let a malicious server exploit a buffer overflow to execute a shellcode on connecting clients.
-- Updated binaries for the following games are available:
Quake III Arena - fixed at version 1.32c Return To Castle Wolfenstein - fixed at version 1.41b Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory - fixed at version 2.60b
If you run a server with any older version, please upgrade or consider turning off autodownload ( set sv_allowDownload to 0 ). Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory servers http/ftp download feature is not affected by CVE-2006-2082. If you don't wish to upgrade, you can decide to only enable http/ftp downloads and disable legacy downloads in that particular case.
Finally, server administrators should note that game servers should be running in restricted environments as much as possible ( unpriviledged accounts and chroot jails ). It's a good thing to do the same for clients, or at least ensure that you are properly firewalled.

I downloaded qswitch.zip and followed the instructs in the readme file but no go. I'd like to be able to play other Q3 versions because the number of servers I can play is so limited. What am I doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated.
