Yeah, DDay, I hate you too...lol. One question though. Gamers usually use AMD based Products due to their ability to handle the information highway at much better rates, why Intel?
Wow, I havent been here in quite a while. I was hitting the Main page first , when it went down, I didnt think to go straight to the forums. Anyway, as for the networking side, I didnt look into that much, if you have any info, pls enlighten. Most of the System benchmark comparisons I have seen, the Intel had a higher end. That was the biggest dilemma i faced building this. There are so many dif types of CPU's out now, and more coming, you could debate it forever. Doesn't matter which you get, the serious gamer will need a new one in a couple yrs. Just keep it affordable. This is one of the latest intel boards, and if I want, I can expand quite a bit. It is Quad core compatible, and has 3 express slots. I actually have a 64 bit 2.2 gig Athalon in my Lady's sys, and she has had great luck with it. Also, this intel board introduced many new things. If I plug my Mic into my rear speaker jack, the board reconfigures that automatically into a mic port. It is also great for tweaking and overclocking, etc, which was the main reason I frowned on Intel in the past.
Well, I went and did a litl more Homework, and according to the reviews I saw, the OC(optical Carrier) speeds for this board(D975XBX2) are amazing, also lacking in earlier Intel boards. I guess that dip in Stock prices a while back caused them to compete a litl more.
