Hi all
Just wondering how easy it is to use the standard death match maps for ctf. I tried downloading a program to convert the maps do it but I didn't get it to work. There must be an easy way to manipulate the maps so you can use the standard dm in ctf settings.
Any ideas would be appreciated. Also, those of you who play ctf or have done in the past can you give me a list of maps that people enjoyed playing and list those that people avoided. At the moment on our ctf server people do not like q3ctf2 and 3 for some reason.
cheers

Basically we are wanting to use the DM maps to play CTF. Servers such as the Russian rails use standard DM maps for CTF. I have managed to find CTF variants for some of the DM maps but they are either large or have to many closed areas and it makes for a slow pace game. I found some files the other day on file planet which allows u to import all the standard maps from pack0.pk and change entities from DM to CTF. However, I failed to get it to work and jobber is trying to do it now. We basically want small player able maps which people won't get bored with. I have a good dlrate setup on servers so 3-4 mb maps takes less than 1 min so once we get the Russians and other Europeans to enable auto download we might start and have some good success with CTF. If u fancy joining our new server forum I will set u back up with mapping admin and u will be a good addition to our server admin team.

Thanks m8 that will be a great help. What seems popular at the moment is small space ctf maps I have a small q3ctf17 running well and a multiversion of q3tourney6 dm17 mix map which is a very nice map and easy to play with 4 or 5 players. V23 kicks ass on that map he is very fast. Look forward to hearing from you catch me at the servers forum.
best wishes
