I have no idea what those errors I keep gettin are but it is starting to make me mad. I went to some other forums to try to find out wtf it is but they all said that the Quake III patch v1.32 would fix it? WELL IT DIDN'T! Maybe someone can help me?
I don't have these Errors, I use a Q3 Version Switcher. I also like to play in 1.30 actually. And many players from 1.32 do that, too. I will upload it for you all who needs it when i come back from school. You can even switch to version 1.17
Well well well, I'll be dipped... works nicely. You must have Point Release 1.32 installed first. here's a place to get it... well done Auri [ftp]http://gameadmins.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=143[/ftp]
The protocol defines the "language" the server uses to communicate with the client (=you). If the server uses a different protocol than the client, you won't be able to connect to that server, since server and client won't understand each other. Quake3 will dump you back to the menu with a message "server uses protocol xx" where xx is the protocol number, depending on the point release used:

Just of late I have been having CD key errors some servers that are PB enabled tell me to insert my my CD key I do this and things are fine, But go to say Gimps for example and I get the Invalid CD Key message. I delete the cd key out of the Insta unlagged folder and I can get on Gimps any one got any Ideas what I need to do to stop this?
Sounds so complicated. I wanted to play 1.30 and other versions so long. But I really did not want to create so many different folders and there would be so many obstacles.. can't use All Seeing Eye or HLSW clearly and so on, you should know what I mean.
So I searched very long and in the end I found a version switcher. You start it, select the version you want to have your quake run in and then either click "Change version and exit" or "Change version and join the server" (you can also type a server there).
That is easy to me. And I never had any problems from the beginning. It's just uploading to my server for you all.
