To try and tell you how to set up port forwarding will be a little tricky over a message board... I'll try and get on MSN tomorrow... thehood1981@hotmail.com
If it wasn't for the last minute, nothing would ever get done
ok, assuming the manual you have found is the correct one, you don't sound too sure yourself!? It looks to me like you'll need to log onto your router (open up a web browser and type http://192.168.1.1 enter your username and pass) and find the Special application settings
in the first free slot enter 27960 in trigger port and public port and have tcp selected on both of them, click enabled and save your changes.
Repeat again in another free slot but this time, instead of tcp, select udp on both trigger and public ports, and again save your changes.
That should open up the ports for ya... if my understanding of your manual (if its the right one!) is right.
Then you just need to get your config done.
*I reserve the right to be wrong on any and all of this*
i was seen the same prob with my router netgear... and the solution about the prob was to create DMZ service. i mean, in panel admin>option u can create a DMZ server.. and u will allow the port concerning q3.. (make DMZ server with same Ip as your comp)
i hope to help you
later
OMG OMG i tought it was september 2k6 :S it's 2K5 omg sorry all -_-

Hey people, it is Jeff on Missys system. Sphincter is trying to set up a server and has some issues, so lets help the guy out. Here is what in going on in his own words:
Well here's what I've tried so far, I'm running the server from the computer I use to play. I can start the server, and connect myself, but when my friend tries to connect, it does nothing. I tried opening port 27960 and 27961(just for the hell of it) in windows firewall, and that didnt't work either. I use yahoo all seeing eye to connect to quake servers, not sure if your familiar with that program or not. When I open that up, it should show my server, but it doesn't. I can manually add my server and it shows up for me, and I can connect to it, but when my friend manually adds it on his, it shows up, but it says "unscanned" and he can't connect. I am confused about the command you suggested +net_port, maybe you can send your server config so I can look at it.
Now, I have explained to him that in the eye, he can only see his own server in the LAN Server tree to the right. I think he needs to set up a shortcut on his desktop to force the server to use a certain port. That "should" do it I think. Snow and hoody are good at this, and I am extremely busy. So I thought that I would post it here so that you can help the guy out. Thanks in advance guys.
