Well, it doesn't need help anymore, but I've been frustrated for two days. I have a 250 gig WD HD in my sys. As some may know .Windows cannot handle drives over 137 gb unless the proper drivers and registry entries are in place. I have this drive in three partitions. The first two are the part that it could read split in half. The third is the part that was formatted after enabling in XP. This is where I WAS keeping my MP3's, game cfg's etc. When I reformatted my C: Drive and reinstalled Windows, All the files on that drive were orphaned by windows and completely innaccessible. permissions were discarded and all I got was "Access denied, You don't have permission to access this file". I was freaking. Well anyway, here is how to take ownership, and change permissions on a Windows XP sys. After I found it I thought about how many files I've deleted because of this same situation, and could have prob been fixed easily. Hope this helps someone someday. support.microsoft.com/?kbid=308421
