Ya know, too many people throw out things that, well, they just shouldn't. I get a TON of stuff that way, I could do a list, but....it would be too long. I guess I could be called a pack-rat. I have gotten major appliances that were worth hundreds and only needed a 2 dollar part. This happened to me again yesterday. I was on my way home ( in the companies Grand Prix, that thing goes FAST! I could tell ya how fast, but I would NEVER see how fast a company vehicle would go..... ;D ) anyway.... there was a voice in my head saying [glow=red,2,300]stop of at the recycling center...stop off at the.....[/glow] So I did. Now, this wonderful place has electronics that people throw out. GREAT for computer parts! Well, someone threw out an IBM server....dum-ass...and someone threw out a celeron based system. Yep, Celeron, crap really.. but, it has a new DVD/RW in it. Now, THERE'S A DUM-ASS! I figured the puter must have fried, who in their right mind would throw it out. So, I picked it up for the box. Last night I needed to stop my curiosity, so I hooked her into my box. The thing works perfectly. So, checked out the rest of the stuff...everything works perfectly. Dum-ass X-Owner.... lucky me

Tsk Tsk.... I have accumulated a lot since this post, but today someone did it again. They must have got a new system, and they brought their entire old system to the Recycling Center. I know enough by now, that if someone packs something up very nicely, chances are, they still are good. This fool tried to tweak an old P2, 400mhz system, hehe. Half a gig of new ram, 60 gig hard-drive, 19 inch flat screen monitor, (which looks just great in my Computer work room) and a newer sound card. This is just too good. It is totally complete. I think I might pull the 133 ram out and put in 100, since that is what the motherboard supports... then, smaller hard drive= another server, lol. I made an interesting deal with our local Salvation Army yesterday also, now get this... Companies and the such donate their 2 year old systems to them, they get TONS... however, they have stopped reselling the towers due to companies not wanting towers that had all of their information on them resold, even if the hard drives are removed or formatted. They just don't do it anymore...shame.. Anyways, they still get in shipments of monitors, which they sell cheap. I've gotten around 6 I think from there. Well, the Manager, (we're not friends, but we know each other) offered me something yesterday. She HATES the monitors, they take up too much space, they are heavy, she just doesn't want to deal with them. Well, she said, "Jeff, if I gave you a gross price, would you want to take some off my hands when they come in?" Well, of course I would... how much? Her response " I dunno... fifty cents a piece?" OH YEAH!! YIPPE FLIPPIN HIPPIE!
