unfortunately, now after about 5 attempts to render it with effects, it always broke down at abou 50% so i cant render it *cry* the effects rock, i dont know what to do. doesnt depend on other programs that may disturbing while that, i closed them before rendering. really bad situation now, awww. but i will fix it, i must use the talent power

I am sure, it is something simple. That always happens to me, when I get frustrated, it is something simple, right in front of me the whole time. You'll get it
rendering takes about 3-5 hours. i rendered about 3 times till the end. the resolution was always ntsc, that really is not nice. i cant render mpg, what i really want to do, nice resolution, nice qualiy. breaks down in the middle. not always on the same spot so i thought maybe another program could disturb. shut all programs down and ran it again. didnt work.
dont know what to do, i guess i will run around in mirc a bit and ask..
I rendered my movie often now. It didnt finish. I went to mirc, in planetvideos channel. After some hints i got myself sony vegas 5.0b. I did all effects, i tried to export. It worked - most shitty resolution ever. Cant watch it like this. U see every single pixel and so on.. I worked around on that for 5 hours and tried all options that i had to make it a good resolution like the Aurivolution that u have now, u can at least make it full screen and it fits. I couldnt manage to make it a good one. I was angry I cleaned up a bit here, after some minutes i noticed that i deleted the working file, tried to undelete it with a tool, didnt work, all effects are gone and the program wouldnt have made it at all. So, imagine, NastyTalent gives up. I leave it. I wont add anymore effects to this movie, i guess most of the people who have seen it already like it like this hehe.
So now we could say the final version is already online and its already around everywhere: www.eqlclan.com/downloads.htm EQL clan is a very well known ctf clan.
And.. do you know badabum.net? U SHOULD. One of the most famous sites ever and who hasnt played on their servers at least 10 times..
thats all. My aim now is to make a new movie, doesnt have to be a good one, but with funny jumps and funny frags and blabla in it, u know my style hehehe. Already recorded 3 scenes. Will be a short movie, i only want to test if i can finally make a movie with nice effects. Release date is not yet set. Didnt even start cutting, lol. Out now, i guess that was enough information. See you all later, family

lol ok I have sonic foundry vegas on my system. I just use it for file conversion and the such.
Dont worry about ntsc or Pal if the only purpose is for showing it on computers. (tv, that's different)
So don't convert your PAL material to NTSC format. Even if you are a pro, it is virtually impossible to get it done with a program like vegas video.
If you want to render from AVI to mpeg I'd suggest you use TMPGenc. Here's the linky winky to the 'trial' version
Also what lot's of people use is Virtualdub. It can convert just about anything and more... I haven't used it much, only once when I needed to 'repair' an NTSC MPEG, it did the job so to speak. I'd say: give it a try!
If the above can't help you because you have added the effects with vegas video, then what you could do is first render it to avi, instead of mpeg what I suspect you are doing.
If you still have problems, just ask ok Johnny wohnny?
As I'm writing this I am thinking that I actually need more information from you. What kind is the original material (AVI, MPEG, NTSC, PAL ..resolution...etc.) What program did you try to render it with before you tried Vegas? What are the effects (are they adobe premiere after effects...or?) What do you want to render it TO? See? I have loads of questions you need to answer for me before I can really help you ..
I'll be waiting then..

Thank u much catty watty
I recorded AVI files out of quake demos using Fraps. It simply puts all that it sees in the game, in game-quality in Avi files, 640,480. Was perfect like this. Then i did something stupid, i cut the video together, added music and so on, in Windows Movie Maker.. lol. Didnt know how to use any other programs till that time.
Ogod, how to say how it came out? It came out as wmv file. Size bit bigger than i thought i could make the video, quality not the very best but watchable. Of course i cant change that quality anymore and its ok. I downloaded a trial *wink wink* of Vegas 5.0b and added effects and put some more sounds over the music. Took me some time, yes. Then i wanted to export it to a very small file. What surprised me is that Windows Movie Maker took about 16 minutes for rendering and Vegas takes about 10 hours.. I didnt care, i wanted to add effects. I tried rendering in avi, in wmv, mpg1, mpg2, mov. That are the most known ones i think. For every of these i put the quality the highest i could, didnt care about size. Mpgs still sucked and broke down in the middle of rendering all the time. Mov.. dont even understand that format now, good that it didnt work either. Wmv > i couldnt manage to export it in a good resolution. I tried many. The one that the original avis were in, the one the finished Aurivolution without effects was in, the resolutions that i wanted to have.. i didnt even manage to get one, that doesnt add something like "line breaking effects", the fonts were hard to read, format was not nice. I tried avi. It had quality. It had a terrible motion blur thing that looks as if the pics stay on the comp for 1 second, then blur into the next one. Terrible. So i couldnt use that at all. Besides i have 40gb harddisc. It would take about 30gb to export it in the best quality, uncompress (i know i could do this and then use virtual dub vor divx compression).
I tried this all about one week long. Usually i manage all things like these. I didnt. I gave up in the end because i didnt want to waste more time with trying to render for about 5 hours and then it breaks down again..
After, i found the solution that i can output the video easily if i dont change anything in the resolution, i really mustnt even touch it. Did that with some new scenes and exported to wmv. Super quality. Too big, cant compress it after. So i dont know what to do now.
But im going on vacation in one week finally again and i dont give anything about this now, hehe. Thanks for ur help Catty. Not bad if u cant help me now, dont worry. Premiere Pro would work i guess but my *wink wink* trial version is no longer working..

Yes a little one please. I know now how to make from a 90mb avi video a 360kb sequence, i know how to add xvid now. Best codec i guess. But when i render my movie in vegas to avi, then there are bad movement mistakes, its like the half of the pic stays there, the other half is already in the next frame. Know how to delete this? Is my comp too slow?
Oh, catty: I managed to create a cfg for quake today that lets me record nice avis without any delay, malfunctions or quake outputs (no "following bla bla", "fragged fadsfasf 1st place with 3245235", no "made backflip tripple backside tail whip into the lava" ) i have nice avis. i will recorde more of them now till i have much stuff for another movie or so. must try to work with them. i guess i want to use premiere though. theres once function that i need:
there are great tricking movies that only have the resolution of 640x300 i think. that is very cool, i need that. but it must not be pressed together, the pic, but the edges need to be cut off. if u know what i mean.. hope so. thx
