right then guys n galls i am confused, i work in IT and if i get this problem at work there is usually a router at the heart of the problem, however I aint got one, i just got boosted up to a meg with my isp but i ping the same, and i am upgrading again on the 4th to 4 meg and i reccon my ping will be the same ..any idea's anyone i wanna get below 100
Tell me the truth...was it all poppers and weird sex?
Your ping is the time it takes for the packets of information to be sent to the server and back again (techies correct me on this if i'm wrong)
If the server is in the US and you (like me) are in the uk, it takes a certain time for the packets to get there and back... in my case about 100ms
It's all a question of distance, unfortunately you won't ping any lower with a faster broadband speed, but you will be able to download music, film and the like a whole lot quicker.
