Well, i can honestly say having played it now.... it is one scary game, and visually absolutely stunning
I think the main thing that really annoyed me from the start was the fact that you cant pull down the console by default so for those of you that are sad like me you can get round this by adding "com_allowConsole 1" at the command line
There is, much like Q3, a built in timedemo which truly made me wanna cry.... at low gfx settings, no special effects etc i managed a steady 60 fps... best start saving those pennies... i gotta buy me a silicon graphics workstation ;D
As far as multiplayer goes.... i probably wont check that out for a long time, but i think q3 is still gonna be my fave... more fast paced, and NASTY!
Edit: You can access the console in D3 without doing what i said by pressing CTRL-ALT-TILDE(~).... someone didn't read the manual However, i still maintain that one key is easier than 3 at once... so i'll be sticking with what i did

If it wasn't for the last minute, nothing would ever get done

Hey Gimpy.. please highlight and point out the "mention" to me. I have 5 minutes a day at the puter, if I am lucky.....so, I can't, ( don't have enough time..) to read it all. I will though, oh yes I will. We have us a celebrity, can I have an autogragh? hehe. Cheers man, well done!

Doom III is locked to 60-fps in-game... Although the timedemo isn't locked, if you can get a constant 60-fps in-game you're sorted!

Hey Jeffster - check my post again - I used the word "nearly" ;D Here's the paragraph:
The special effects are also extremely well done. Describing the coolest ones would take up too much of the text, but there so many times when you stop and think “holy crap! How did they do that?!” – But that’s just the ID Software magic. Also, the animations add a great deal of life to the game. When walking up some stairs you may suddenly see the metal bend to the side by a nasty imp. The environment is in other words very dynamic. Character animations are top notch, and each and every one has realistic inverse kinematics (rag doll) physics. Monsters can climb and move just as they perhaps would’ve done in real-life. They don’t seem to be limited by anything.
