Well, I am in the process of deciding what componants I am going to put in Missy's and my new systems that I am going to build. One thing that I have been kicking back and fourth are video cards. I am building systems that will support up to 4 videos cards (crossfire), but it left me with the question; are two decent cards better than one really good card? Well, I decided after A LOT of studying, the answer is no. The card will still support crossfire, but I do not see any need for it anytime soon. The thing is a MONSTER. What I think I will use is the Visiontek Radeon HD 3870 X2 overclocked edition:
Then, a MSI K9A2 Platinum Motherboard with a AMD Phenom X4 9950 Quad Core Processor (black edition)
Throw in 8 gigs or DDR ram, and I think we will be set for another 8 years

Chaz just sent me an email and suggested looking into a 4780 card. I looked at the clock speeds, temps, and I was sure that the x2 3870 was still my best bet. So, I went to toms to look at the performance tests....damnit, he was completely correct! Thanks for the heads up Chaz. Hopefully when I order next week the prices will be a little lower on them- 70 dollars more than the 3870- but worth it from what I am reading.
very nice system jeffa :-D, always love building them *pushes up glasses* Spaz keeps going mad at me cuz im forever buying new shiz, that cooler is extreme tho! i reckon if i took everything out of my case i still wouldnt get the flipping thing in!

Yeah, it's just too much moolah... all decent heatsinks now are HUGE, but I can get a decent cooler for 80 dollars cheaper. I think I will either get the ZEROtherm Butterfly BTF90, (looks too girlish)
Or, I will probably go with the V1:
Missy says I am bragging; but I really do not mean to. I am just VERY excited. I build systems for other people and never for us; it has been 8 years since I built ours. I am really looking forward to it.
